Make a Portable Altar: Honoring Ancestors, Beloved and Pets with Mary Clayton-McGlauflin & Marga Fripp

In preparation for All Souls’ Day, Samhain, and Día de los Muertos, we invite you into a sacred space of remembrance and creativity. Together, we will honor those we love and remember—ancestors, family, friends, children, and cherished pets—by crafting portable altars that can travel with you, carrying memory, blessing, and beauty wherever you go.

Sliding Scale: $35-45/session. If cost is a barrier, please apply for a scholarship: email margacfripp@gmail.com.

RSVP required. Space is limited.

What to bring for this project:

  • If you have a box you’d like to use for this project, please bring it with you (cigar box, jewelry box, etc). If you don’t have one, a hinged wooden box and art supplies will be provided.

  • Please bring copies of photos or images of loved ones you wish to include. (Do not bring originals, as they may be cut or altered to fit.)

  • Bring a personal journal (for writing and reflections)

  • You may also bring small mementos—souvenirs, personal items, letters, writings, fabrics, or meaningful objects—to weave into your altar decoration.

You’ll be nourished with:

  • Herbal tea & healthy, gluten-free snacks

  • Soothing music & aromatherapy

  • Compassionate guidance and community

  • Time for reflection, creation, and soulful sharing
