Soulpower Dance with Kristy Johnson, Outdoors at Lake Junaluska

  • Under the trees near The Labriynth Chapel Drive (near The Memorial Chapel) Lake Junaluska, NC 28745 (map)

This isn’t just a dance class—it’s a soulful invitation to reconnect with your whole self. Soulpower Dance blends expressive movement and meaningful choreography to awaken joy, release emotional tension, and restore inner harmony.

Soulpower dance is an empowering and exhilarating dance class incorporating meaningful and cathartic choreography to align our emotional expression with our embodied awareness. It is deeply intentional, inviting us to feel and embody our most elemental nature, connecting to earth, spirit, human, and each other. The class is an opportunity to have joyful fun, while digging deeper into wholeness, healing, and the illuminating spirit within.

Led by Kristy Johnson, Certified Soulpower Dance Teacher, this experience engages both body and spirit in a non-performative, empowering way.

Come as you are. Move as you feel. Reclaim your joy.
Part of Lake Junaluska’s Summer Activities Program.

Fee: $15–25 per person

Meet Kristy Johnson!

DANCE SETS ME FREE!

I have always danced. I dance because it sets me free… it connects me to my body, my heart and to the interconnected community that we are.

My background as a long-time teacher (of all ages), certification in Zumba and Soulpower dance, and long-term meditation and yoga practice, inform how I show up. That… and a partner, two children, three dogs, and one cat!

The intentionality of the Soulpower movements, music, and incorporation of the feminine and masculine as well as all the elements- air, earth, metal, fire and water- brings me home over and over again. I can feel the surrender and my individual and the collective vibration rise up and up. It is for all these reasons that I became a certified Soulpower dance teacher and what I try to hold space for and co-create in this incredible, joyful, playful, heartful community. I dance to connect, to re-member, to feel, to play…. Come dance with me!
